Initially, the idea behind this travel journal was sound. Planning a lot of trips upon retiring, I bought several. I carried one with me on several trips and wrote what made sense to write. I thought the categories built into the journal got in the way more than helped. Everyone is so different in how they might want to organize their thoughts. Prior to development of computers I might have rated this higher. But now, I simply do not want to retype what I wrote into a word processor. I carry a tablet to type my thoughts into now. This is a good idea but for many, the use of pen and pencil is now passe.Product details

I stumbled across this journal, and bought it without even opening it because the cover was so simple and elegant- leather-bound with only the engraving of a bicycle wheel. It is probably my husband's favorite present that I have ever given him. There are plain, lined, and graphed pages, and best of all, every few pages there are the most wonderful illustrations of bicycle implements, maps, or other subjects related to travel. I highly recommend this as a unique gift for anyone who loves bikes, travel, illustration, architecture, journaling, or any other related subject. I am afraid that I will never find another journal like it for when my husband uses up all the pages and needs a new one.
